how can i overcome the fears and insecurities from the past

.... Every person and circumstance is different. I know women who have gotten past their childhood and teenage trauma in a matter of a few months of intense counselling. For myself, I"ve seen 13 different counsellors, 2 psychiatrists, and been hospitalized three times, as well as attended addiction treatment programs, and I still have a long way to go before I am past those experiences. Only you know how fast you can tackle your issues. I do think the most important thing is to find a good counselor or psychologist you can talk to. After that, it's really up to you. Myself personally, I've been so afraid of facing the past that I've given it the runaround in counselling, talked around it instead of about it. Some things, you may not know you have issues with. Years in the future some tiny little thing may come up that brings back pain from your childhood. There is no telling when where or what may cause this to happen. I wish you luck on your healing journey. It is a hard one, but experience has shown me it is worth it.
