I'm trying to remember 2 books from when I was a kid--so this would be before 1980. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.One was about a dog in the pound trying to get adopted so he tried to be different kinds of dogs (like a fancy dog, a police dog, a circus dog) before he finally fits in perfectly as a family dog, a little of all of them.The other book was about kids building a house, maybe out of an appliance box. I remember illustrations like someone carrying a big 2 by 4, someone with a roll of shiny paper.The second book--I also remember the characters weren't exactly people. They were sort of hairy, Cousin It type characters. Short and round-ish. I thought maybe Richard Scarry, but I can't find a list of all of his books.
