The hospital performed a x-ray on my child without my consent. This was NOT a emergency situation.I have signed consent forms for mri all the way to spinal tap. I wasn't at the hospital when they did this. They sent us home because the MRI was going to take a hour. We only live 5 minutes from the hospital. I got a call saying there was a x-ray ordered for tomorrow but they took it upon themselves to do it today while I wasn't there?I have signed consent forms for mri all the way to spinal tap. Simply put, no. I would say that it is a non invasive procedure that would not require being signed off on by a parent or guardian. But I find it hard to believe that any hospital or MD would do an MRI that you have given consent for before they did an xray. That or either when you signed for the MRI you signed for an XRAY as well. There is also a form used by hospital called a consent to treat, which gives them the right to perform non invasive procedures on patients without having to get a signature for every single thing the doctor asks them to do
