I don't have any children, I'm only 18. But I've always, like, since I was 12, planned on homeschooling my children when I do have them. I'm going to college to get a degree in education, so I can have a job before I have children, so I have a degree that proves I know what I'm doing, because I know some people will argue about it, and so if for some reason I ever don't have another income, such as my husband passed or became ill, I have a degree to fall back on. But I want to know what it's ACTUALLY like, not what my inexperienced ideas and expectations hope for.Thank you!!

Wow. You sound like you have your head on straight. Good for you.I hs my 2 boys since the beginning. They're 12 & 11 now. I don't have a degree but I love books and I've learned on my own since I was 13. Luckily we live in a state that doesn't require much so we have freedom to do what we'd like. It was pretty confusing in the beginning of our schooling. I had to figure things out myself and just try different things to see if they fit us. I had no support nor did I know anyone else who's hsing so I was all alone. Some days were very frustrating for both my boys and I, some days are pure joy. It takes a lot of work on a mother's part. Now a days there are so many online groups, you can easily find someone to get advice or information. I know now that in about Feb./March, we all get a little stir-crazy and it's time to stir the pot a little. I'm so glad we came this way. Sometimes I wish I could just send them away from me; let someone else take care of them. ;-) But in the end, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. I'm glad to have a great relationship with my boys.
