Default birth control help needed NOW. : )?

i was talking to my mom this morning and she said that Tri-Sprintec 28 day regimen birth control pill wasn't actually birth control. i was put on birth control to help with my period but i have had sex a few times since i've been put on it. but i was just wondering is my mom just telling me that it isn't actually birth control so i don't have sex or is it not really a birth control. please help me on this. thank you oh so much.even though my question is not over...that just made my day. : ) i'm so freaking happy that it is actually birth control. : ) haha. thank you all so much.

lol yes i think your mom is just trying to keep you away from the sex for now..Tri-Sprintec 28 actually is a birth control pill but you have to remember that even though its birth control its not 100% guarantee to prevent pregnancy im using Junel right now and have had a few moments where i would have had sex too but the one thing that keeps me back from it is that its not 100% guaranteed so i guess i'll just wait til the time when i dont have parents to contradict and flip out if im not married to my bf and get preg. but you should take a pregnancy test just in case to make sure nothing is up =) there about 10 dollars for a pack of 3 at your local drug store..hope this helps

Ok, tried a google search. Best I can tell is has 2 hormones, a progestin and an estrogen; which means it's the real deal. All hormonal birth control uses either both or one of those two hormones, the main difference is how they get them into your body.
