Default Is TriNessa an actual birth control pill?

So I'm 13 and today my mom took me to the doctors to figure out some problems with my irregular period. My doctor prescribed me with TriNessa to make me regular and I was reading the packaging when I got home.I noticed it said "This product (like all oral contraceptives) is intended to prevent pregnancy. It does not protect against HIV... etc.":I'm not saying I want to switch but I was wondering if they'd really prescribe me with actual birth control. I thought it'd just be a low dose to regulate me. I guess not...???Help me out please, I'm totally confused. )So in other words, I can basically do whatever I want and not get pregnant?

yes it is, a side effect of birth control is to regulate periods. I got on birth control because I had really bad cramps.

Yes, it is a birth control. Lots of doctors prescribe birth controls to help regulate periods or to help with acne.
