Yes. Remember to breathe through your contractions, or even puffing lightly will help you get over the contraction's peaks. The severe pain of contractions can literally take your breath away.Remember to stay hydrated, have a jug of iced water nearby with a glass and straw. Labour can be and usually is very hard and hot work.When pushing, stop pushing hard when the baby's head is crowning and just let the head slide out slowly. This will greatly reduce the chance of tearing.And lastly, remember that once you get to around the hardest part of the labour(around 6/7 centimetres dilated), this will be as bad as the pain will get, but in general, from this point onwards it won't be long at all until you are ready to push. Not as long as it took to get up to 6/7 centimetres.Good luck
