Bono or someone like that has a daughter named Memphis and my friend has a female dog named Memphis, so I associate it as being a feminine name. A very cool name, though and I actually think it could be used for both. I agree with giving a more conventional middle name. He can always fall back on it if Memphis is too wild for his personality later in life! Nice name!
