I had custody of an ex-boyfriends child for 4 1/2 years and then the appellate judges returned her to her birth mother. I now want to adopt but feel like a fish out of water. My fiance and I were going to adopt a baby but the mother changed her mind. We have had our home study and pre-adoption certification. We don't have alot of money but enough to support a child or children. The state would like for us to become foster parents first.and we don't really want to do that. We don't need to adopt a newborn but are just stuck on were to turn.
