My fiance is the same- wants the big churcch wedding with everyone he's ever met, but I'm not baptised or religious and my family is small. We've decided to invite only the most important people to ours, the people who have been around to see most of our relationship and to have a 'medium-sized' wedding, since he wants big and I want small. You both want to enjoy your day with your family and friends and if you already have a little family of your own started, you'll need to save money for them, instead of blowing it all on one day of cake and white lace.
