You're kidding right? A 25 day old baby is not a toddler, they're a newborn! Of course he's fussing and crying whe you leave him alone. He was just carried for the last 9 months of his life and he still craves and needs that close, caring attention. By allowing him to fuss and cry and by "leaving him alone", you're neglecting him and his needs!Pick him up, carry him, cuddle him, comfort him, feed him, change him, make him as comfortable as possible. You need to recreate the womb as much as you can for him right now. Swaddle or wrap him, put on soft music, or a vacuum cleaner to recreate the "white noise" he heard in the womb, try a swing, Shhhush him, gently, of course, sway with him, gently bounce him. Once he's calm, he's bound to sleep and stop crying so much. The reason he doesn't sleep is because you ignore his needs. They become too frantic when left to cry by themselves and they do not know how to calm themselves. Give him a few more months and he'll learn to self-soothe and sleep longer on his own. And check out the book "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Harvey Karp. Worked wonders for us with our daughter.Your son still needs the comfort and attention he had in the womb. Don't neglect him.
